Introducing the 2023 Chicago Lyric Opera Wine Auction, a prestigious three-day event that attracted over 400 guests from around the world, including over 31 esteemed vintners.
Guests of the event gathered in support of the Lyric Opera, donning their best black-tie attire, consisting of elegant gowns, tuxedos, and breathtaking high jewelry. The event was held in the historic Daniel F. and Ada L. Rice Grand Foyer of the Chicago Lyric Opera House. The ambiance was exquisite and immersive, with the event consisting of a red carpet, prestigious wine tastings, hors d'oeuvres, live music, dinner on the stage, and a live auction that included a lot to bid for a personal consultation at the Tamsen Z Upper East Side atelier in New York City.
Tamsen Z at the Wine Auction
Tamsen Z’s participation in the event stems from Ann Ziff’s lifelong dedication to the arts. Showcased at the featured vintners reception, Tamsen Z’s jewelry pieces were incorporated in the wine auction in support of the Lyric Opera’s individual institutes, including Lyric Unlimited. Lyric Unlimited is an institute that works directly with school children across the metropolitan Chicago area to mentor up-and-coming performing artists, driving forward the vitality and legacy of the opera.
Ann Ziff is known for her robust service for and love of the arts, as Chairman of the Metropolitan Opera, Vice Chair of Lincoln Center for Performing Arts, and Board of Directors Member for the Los Angeles Opera. Tamsen Z’s presence at the event beautifully captured the marriage of Ann’s two passions.
Tamsen Z shares a deep connection with the opera community, and was thrilled to showcase our pieces on the host committee of the Chicago Lyric Opera Wine Auction.
The Host Committee of the 2023 Chicago Lyric Opera Wine Auction
The host committee, photographed above, proudly displayed their support by showcasing some of Tamsen Z’s most precious pieces, most notably, our Champagne, Yellow, and White Diamond Strap Bracelet. Featuring 83.09 carats of yellow and white diamonds, it perfectly encapsulates the elegance and sophistication of the opera.
Tamsen Z’s Commitment
Tamsen Z’s use of rare and precious gemstones captures the identity of the opera, captivating, inspiring, and distinctive. Ann Ziff pours passion and inspiration into the design of each piece, making them one-of-a-kind, just as you would expect from an opera performance.
In previous efforts to support the Metropolitan Opera, Ann Ziff skillfully repurposed Swarovski crystals from the original installation of the 1966 landmark chandelier at the Met to design a collection exclusively for the benefit of the opera.
At Tamsen Z, supporting the arts and contributing to the growth of its institutions is integral to our brand’s identity and purpose. We look forward to continuing to share our journey and contributions to the arts in the best way we know how, through stunning high-jewelry pieces, brought to you here in the Tamsen Z Journal.
